The Head of Learning Area - Technology and Innovation will play a pivotal role in fostering an aspirational and high-achieving culture of educational and operational excellence at Xavier, by providing leadership to both staff and students from Years 7-12.

 

This role requires a collaborative and dynamic approach, characterised by empathetic communication and effective actions, underpinned by a deep understanding of the Digital Technologies curriculum and exemplary processes. Building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and parents is vital to achieving success in this role.

 

Tenure

  • 4 Years commencing at the start of Term 1 2025 until the start of Term 1 2029 with a 0.3 FTE

Selection Criteria

  • Appropriate qualifications and experience for leading the Digital Technologies learning area  across Years 7 - 12, enabling reflective conversations that explore and practice contemporary approaches to to pedagogy, student learning, sourcing and sharing literature, research and experiences that will contribute to the ongoing development of capacity in effective teaching practice across the learning area
  • A commitment to educating children in Catholic Faith and Identity in a Jesuit school
  • Demonstrated ability to demonstrate and foster collaboration and effective teamwork with a co-leader leading to an aligned and cohesive approach 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, adherence to, and leadership for child safety, the Child Safe Standards and an exceptional culture of child safety
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of current educational trends in pedagogy across years 7 - 12
  • Ability to develop, cultivate and maintain professional relationships with staff and in the wider school community.
